Bhikkhu Shripad
Founder
The Visionary's Path
In 2004, a young Bhikkhu named Shripad made a profound decision to join the monk order, known as the bhikkhu sangha. At a tender age, he grasped the significance of education and embarked on a journey of studying, exploring, and traveling to foreign lands in search of a deep-rooted understanding of Buddhism. His quest led him to realize the urgency of reviving the lost Buddhist culture, prompting him to take action.
The Foundation's Genesis
Inspired by Legacy
Inspired by the legacy of King Ashoka and the esteemed Nalanda University, Bhikkhu Shripad envisioned the creation of an organization that would embody their ideals. Thus, he founded the Ashoka Buddhist Foundation, a tribute to the principles and teachings of these revered figures. The foundation aimed to revive and preserve the ancient Buddhist culture, emphasizing the values of compassion, wisdom, and harmony.
Mission in Action
Under Bhikkhu Shripad's leadership, the Ashoka Buddhist Foundation became a platform for promoting education, research, and cultural exchange, rooted in the rich heritage of Buddhism. The foundation's activities included organizing educational programs, facilitating international collaborations, and supporting scholars and practitioners in their pursuit of traditional Buddhist knowledge.
Global Vision
Driven by the vision of a vibrant and interconnected global Buddhist community, the Ashoka Buddhist Foundation played a pivotal role in fostering cross-cultural understanding and revitalizing the teachings of Buddhism. Through its efforts, it sought to create a harmonious world where the profound wisdom of Buddhism could flourish, benefiting individuals and society as a whole.
